FAQ
Your first visit starts with an intake form covering your health history and main complaint. You can fill it out online ahead of time via the link in your confirmation email, or arrive about 10 minutes early to do it at the office. In the treatment room, your RMT will review your intake with you, talk through your symptoms and goals, and do any necessary orthopedic assessments before any treatment begins, so your massage is tailored to you from the start.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit, e-transfer, and cash. RMT treatments in BC are subject to 5% GST, since massage therapy isn't federally exempt like some other allied health services.
Yes, we direct bill to the majority of private extended health insurance providers. Reach out and we're happy to check whether we bill your specific provider. We don't have access to your policy details, though, so for your specific limits or requirements you'll need to contact your insurance company directly.
Yes, we welcome patients with active ICBC (auto injury) or WorkSafeBC (work-related injury) claims. We don't direct bill these organizations, so you'll pay for your treatment at the time of your visit and submit your receipt to your case manager or insurer for reimbursement. Please bring your claim number and date of injury when you book.
No. Insurers strictly match the patient's name, treatment date, and session length on every claim, so individual benefits can't be shared between family members.
We recommend booking 1 to 2 weeks ahead, especially for evening and weekend slots. If you don't see your preferred time online, give us a call or reach out, since our RMTs are often flexible, and you can also add yourself to our Jane App waitlist for automatic notifications of last-minute cancellation openings.
We ask for as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule, since holding an appointment reserves a dedicated spot that another patient could have used. We do our best to fill empty slots on short notice, but cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice or no-shows are subject to a late fee. See our Clinic Policies page for full details.
No doctor's referral is required to book a massage therapy treatment with us. That said, some private extended health insurance plans require a physician's prescription for reimbursement, so we always recommend checking your specific policy guidelines beforehand.
Wear comfortable clothing that's easy to change out of. While skin-to-skin contact is ideal for most massage therapy techniques, your RMT can easily work around clothing or adapt to whatever level of undressing you're comfortable with. You'll be properly draped with a sheet and blanket at all times, ensuring your privacy and comfort throughout the session.
Yes, there are a few parking spots right out front of our office, as well as a larger lot at the back of the building. Street parking is also readily available in the area, so finding a spot should be easy.
To make sure every patient gets their full, dedicated treatment time, appointments end at their scheduled time regardless of when you arrive. If you're running late, a quick text or call to let us know is always appreciated so your RMT can plan accordingly.
